Private Project London

"God is in the details"
Mies van der Rohe

This 400 m2 apartment located in the residential area of London is a family residence with a contemporary design. An extension of the entrance gallery and a redistribution of the sleeping area were completely redesigned. The living room, the dining room and the kitchen interact in the same space.
An invisible air conditioning has been installed in the small ribs of all ceilings to allow a perfect linearity of volumes where every detail is reflective of its sober and subtle aesthetic. The home automation system connects all apartment equipment, from light to temperature management and electrical rods. Digital screens are placed at the entrance of each room and specific area. Art works are ubiquitous in this project as in each MBI project.

Challenge

The challenge was to tell an architectural story matching the existing black floor of the reception area. A Marquina black marble was therefore selected for the entrance hall, to create a dreamlike effect of a lake, as a natural extension of the dark floor of the reception area.
All selected materials and furniture help to tell the story of this art gallery-like hall; the night space, like another island, more intimate and conducive to relaxation, looms from a corridor in full clarity, created in the perpendicular extension of the lobby.
In the day area, treated as an island, each space has its own identity: the reception room dominated by a niche in raw concrete, echoes the concrete credence of the kitchen. The dining area is delimited by two majestic works of art.

Added Value

The fundamental aspect of Marcella Briza Interiors' offer is to include a creative and dreamlike approach as close as possible to the architecture and the existing technical constraints. A reflection on design that has turned to noble materials and a high-quality workmanship, is an approach that favors craftsmanship in the spirit and tradition of the great French architects-decorators of the 1940s who could combine aesthetics, modernism, comfort and well-being.
